Calvin junior diver Hannabeth Magnussen has been named to the Division III CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in the women's at-large division.
As a member of the all-district team, Magnussen advances to the national ballot and is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
The at-large division includes the sports of lacrosse, rifle, skiing, fencing, swimming and diving, tennis, golf, volleyball, gymnastics, water polo, ice hockey and wrestling.
A native of Oakdale, California, Magnussen recently completed a standout junior year of competition with the Calvin women's swimming and diving team. A graduate of Ripon Christian High School, Magnussen was named the MIAA Women's Most Valuable Diver this past February as she captured league titles on both the one and three-meter diving boards.
She later qualified for the NCAA III Central Diving Regional where she placed seventh on the three-meter board and sixth on the one-meter board to qualify for the NCAA III Championships.
Although the national meet was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Magnussen was later named a Division III All-American by the College Swim Coaches Association of America.
An All-MIAA selection this year, Magnussen has helped the Calvin women's swimming and diving team capture MIAA team titles in both 2018 and 2020.
In the classroom, Magnussen is a biochemistry major while also holding a minor in Latin. She is a two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and a five-time member of the Calvin Dean's List.
