Calvin Women's Basketball Set to Celebrate Senior Day in Saturday Matinee Against Olivet

Grand Rapids, MI – The Calvin University women's basketball has a home MIAA game against Olivet College on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

The Teams: Calvin and Olivet. The Knights enter the game with a 13-8 overall record and a 7-5 MIAA mark. Calvin most recently won a conference matchup against St. Mary's with a score of 57-51. The Comets enter the game with 4-17 overall and 1-11 MIAA mark. Olivet recently lost a conference matchup against Albion with a score of 78-63.

The Coaches: Mark Christner is in his 1st season as head coach of the Calvin women's basketball program. He most recently reached 100 collegiate career wins.  Brittany Zandstra is in her 1st season as head coach of the Olivet women's basketball program after being with the program as an assistant coach since the 2017-2018 season.

The Players: Gabby Timmer is the only Calvin player to average double digits with 17.1 points per game, and she is also averaging 9.3 rebounds per game. The Comets have one player averaging double digits; DeeDee Post (10.9).

Tops in the MIAA: Gabby Timmer is second in the MIAA in scoring at 17.1 points per game and second in rebounds per game with 9.3.

Scoring Offense: The Knights are fourth in the MIAA in scoring offense at 60.0 points per game.

Recent History: Calvin won both meetings last year in the regular season. They met earlier this year and Calvin came out on top with a score of 61-27.
