COACHES COMMENT: "I was really pleased with our energy, mindset and effort today," said Calvin head softball coach Becky Hilgert. "We did a great job battling through adversity all weekend. Our pitching staff kept Buena Vista's hitters off balance and our defense played solid behind them. Offensively we had strong contributions up and down the lineup and put pressure on them every inning. Long innings can really wear a team down defensively and scoring 31 runs over three games in cold conditions was the resutl of us staying within overselves and having a smart but aggressive approach at the plate. Overall, a great start to our young season."

NEXT UP: Calvin will face Buena Vista again next Friday (7 p.m.) and Lake Forest (9 p.m.) next Friday night in Rosemont, Illinois.
