The Calvin softball team has been picked to finish second in the MIAA preseason coaches' poll released this afternoon. The Knights received one first place vote. Defending MIAA champion Trine received seven first place votes and occopies the top spot in the poll. Hope is picked to finish third followed by Saint Mary's in fourth.
Calvin is coming off a standout 2019 campaign that saw the Knights finish 31-10 overall and reach the NCAA III Tournament for the second straight year. The Knights captured the 2019 MIAA Tournament title after finishing second in the MIAA regular season standings with a 12-4 conference record.
The Knights are scheduled to open their 2020 campaign on February 28 when they travel to Millikin University for a doubleheader. Calvin will open its MIAA schedule with a doubleheader at Albion on April 2.
