The Knights used this momentum and went on a 13-1 run to take a 15-9 lead with 11:30 left which was capped by an and-one layup and free throw by senior Derrick DeVries.

Albion came right back at the Knights and went on a 11-4 run to take a 20-19 lead with 6:15 left after a deep three by Jamezelle Davis Jr. It was a battle the last six minutes of the half with the teams scoring back and forth. The Britons started to pick it up on both ends of the court right at the start of the second half. They went on a 12-5 run in the opening five minutes to take a 38-33 lead. Albion kept a steady lead over the Knights but kept knocking on the door. Calvin pulled within three after a three pointer by junior Thad Shymanski (Ada, MI / Grand Rapids Christian) and a jumper by DeWitte, and the score was 45-42 with 10:45 left in the game.

The Knights had trouble stopping the Britons as they went on a 9-2 run with seven minutes left to take a 54-44 lead. Calvin tried to cut into the lead a couple of times, but Albion was in control and didn't let go of it. The Britons held the lead the rest of the way to claim the win.
