Calvin University Athletics 2021 Fall Sports Spectator Attendance Policy

Calvin University Athletics 2021 Fall Sports Spectator Attendance Policy

Calvin Spectator Policy (Effective 8/19/21)

For the safety of spectators as well as student-athletes and athletic staff, Calvin University has implemented guidelines for all home athletic events.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has raised the level of   COVID-19 transmission from ”substantial” to “high” for Kent County.  The CDC recommends everyone in areas with a risk designation of “substantial” or “high” wear a face mask in indoor public places regardless of vaccination status. Calvin University currently requires anyone in a campus building to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status, and the policy applies across the entire university. As a result, the following guidelines will be in effect for upcoming home athletic events:

GENERAL UPDATES

•             Capacities at home athletic events are not being limited or reduced.

•             The indoor face covering requirement applies to all indoor spaces, including restrooms, locker rooms, press boxes, operational booths, etc., regardless of
vaccination status.

•             Fans will not be required to wear masks outdoors.

•             This policy is subject to change. Please continue to visit Calvinknights.com for updates throughout the fall.

FALL SPORTS

•             Outdoor venues (Zuidema Field, Strikwerda Tennis Courts, Gainey Athletic Complex, Baseball Field): No face coverings are currently required for fans.

•             Indoor venues (Van Noord Arena): All home volleyball matches will require fans to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status.
